| One of the famous acting brat-pack of the 1980s, Kiefer Sutherland is the star of the TV series 24 as counter-terrorism expert Jack Bauer. The show broke convention by having each hour-long episode represent an hour in Bauer's day. Sutherland's success on television came after a respectable 15 years in the movies: his memorable turn as a bully in Stand By Me (1986) led to a string of successful ensemble movies, including The Lost Boys (1987), Young Guns (1988), and Flatliners (1990). Although he has carried the lead in several movies and played a variety of roles, he has a reputation for playing bad guys, such as in A Few Good Men (1992, with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson), Freeway (1996, opposite Reese Witherspoon), A Time to Kill (1996), Eye For An Eye (1996) and Dark City (1998). He is the son of movie star Donald Sutherland, he learned how to rope and ride in the movies and has competed professionally as a calf roper. Sutherland was nominated for the Emmy Award for outstanding lead actor in a drama series every year from 2002-2006; he won the award in 2006.

Kiefer Sutherland and Jude Cole teamed up to form their record label, Ironworks:
Ironworks is a small independent record label created and owned by the star of the Fox TV hit series 24, Kiefer Sutherland, and his long time friend and fellow musician, Jude Cole.
The studio's first signed band, whom it is also known famously for, is Rocco DeLuca's band, Rocco DeLuca and the Burden
Ironworks Studio is housed in a historic ironworks foundry in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles; a bohemian suburb that attracts young, artistic hopefuls from all over the world. "Even as people have found success in what they're doing, they've ended up staying because there's such a fantastic community here, and it's lent a great kind of vibe to the studio," Sutherland said.
The studio is managed by guitar tech "Captain" Mark Somgynari, and it operates five to six days a week, 12 hours a day. "We don't rent the studio out," Sutherland said. "It's literally for bands that we have developed and that we're finding. It's unbelievable how many fantastic bands there are out there that are just not being heard. We just want to make records and try to figure out how to get them out there."
Sutherland also goes on to state that: "I don't play in a band, and I didn't build the studio so I could make a vanity record," Sutherland explained. "Jude and I built it together, and it was really to start a label that was going to help young artists that might not be able to find their way in what is becoming a very shrinking corporate music industry and try and make records for them, and either get them out independently or actually use the distribution apparatus of a major."
